The OTR can be fitted using simple hand tools in around 45mins & the kit comes with the K&N filter and all parts required for fitment. This specially designed kit is simple for any DIY enthusiast to install and requires no drilling of the vehicle's bodywork or even the kit itself. We have seen gains in standard vehicles of 7rwkw depending on supporting modifications. This intake can be installed without a tune; given the factory air flow meter is retained. The factory intake is very limiting, as the engine must draw in air through the 90 degrees curved intake pipe, turbulence generating air box and restrictive paper panel filter. The intake is designed in such a way in order to limit noise but, unfortunately, lowers the volumetric efficiency of the engine hence robbing it of power. Concept Car of the Week: Italdesign Machimoto (1986)
Fri, 07 Feb 2014The Machimoto might look and sound like a Japanese concept, but it was developed in Europe in the Turin-based Italdesign studio, and was based on a Volkswagen Golf GTI platform. The name actually derives from MACHIna (car in Italian) and MOTOciclo (motorcycle) as the perfect hybrid between the worlds of two- and four-wheelers. Unveiled on its home turf at the Turin motor show in 1986, it landed like a UFO, shocking both the public and the press.
McLaren 12C GT Sprint fills the gap between the 12C & GT3
Thu, 11 Jul 2013McLaren 12C GT Sprint (pictured) debuts at Goodwood FoS McLaren has revealed a track car that’s not quite as focused as the 12C GT3 or the Can Am, but a bit more focused than a regular road-going 12C – the McLaren 12C GT Sprint. Built by McLaren’s race car division, the GT Sprint gets the same 616bhp and seven-speed twin clutch gearbox as the regular 12C but with new oil and cooling systems and a new radiator at the front borrowed from the GT3 car, McLaren has had a play with the suspension on the 12C GT Sprint, lowered it by 40mm and fitted racing slicks to make the Sprint a lot firmer and sharper than its road-going sibling. Cosmetically, the GT Sprint gets a new front bumper, a bonnet that looks like it came of the 12C GT3, bigger air ducts and wing louvres and the option of lightweight bodywork and a carbon fibre rear wing to push the price up if you want to spend more.
Meguiar's condition improves to stable
Thu, 19 Aug 2010Avid car collector and TV host Barry Meguiar is in stable condition and his health is improving, according to a statement from Meguiar's Inc., the car-care-products company that bears his family name. Meguiar, 67, was hospitalized in Monterey, Calif., last weekend while attending the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, and on Wednesday, his condition was reported as serious. The company statement, released on Thursday afternoon, said Meguiar had contracted an undiagnosed virus recently while recording his TV show, "Car Crazy," outside the United States.
